Anneliese Kompatscher

Anneliese Kompatscher was born in Völs am Schlern, in the Italian Alps, and has for the past 30 years worked as a commercial and editorial photographer for German and Italian publications while based near Munich. Kompatscher's work focuses on food, hotels from the traditional to the avantgarde, company internet presentations, as well as sensitive, richly atmospheric landscape photography.
In South Tyrol, her much-loved cookbook, "Die Küche in Südtirol", now in its 12 printing and which she both wrote and photographed, has made her famous far beyond northern Italy. In addition, she is a frequent contributor at publishing houses such as folio, raetia, blv and several international magazines.
Kompatscher's clear, reduced style has evolved through her untiring pursuit of capturing the essence of her subjects in the most advantageous balance of light and colour in an integrated aesthetic whole, resulting in distinctly sensitive images.
